Guilds stick out to me as a PvP thing, even though they can only be created by PvE characters, and there are definitely some very well known PvE guilds out there.

I thought about it a bit, and I'm not really sure if this is necessary or not. I've been in guilds that actually use the leader/officer/member system and stuff to arrange meetings and decide what we're doing and when we're doing it. I've also been in very lax guilds that don't really care about any guild events and just let everyone play how they want.

Sounds like you need a more active and structured guild.

The "Guild Wars" in the title refers to the back story of the game, where powerful houses fought amongst each other, causing much strife in the various lands of Tyria. In the current game setting, guilds are basically a way of indicating who you associate with, and provides a framework for organized group vs group fighting.

It's already bad enough that whether your Kurzick/Luxon affects which outposts you can buy/sell at, and I wouldn't like to see more restriction added. I also wouldn't like to see guild decisions impacting individual play too much.

In general, the in-game historical significance if guilds is enough...

Lol do you know how many fights that'l make........... HEY SOMEONE WITHDREW 3000K 500E and 20 ARMBRACES AT EXCACTLY 9 O CLOCK YESTERDAY WHO WAS IT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Little does he know no one would be stupid enough to stay after stealing that amount so the guildie is probably long gone. Also with new guilds you'll have some of these............ HEY SOMEONE STOLE MY 300GP WHO WAS IT?!?!!?! IT TOOK ME A WHOLE TWENTY MINUTES TO DO THOSE SHING JEA QUESTS YOU NOOBS SHOULD JUST GO FARM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

To get back on subject I think that idea is probably not for Guild Wars, and I'm not sure what game that would be right for, although I kinda like that idea. I could lead a coup and install myself as leader.... Then execute/ban all the dissenters and free thinkers.
